James is the fourth of five sons to a General Surgeon doctor/father and homemaker mother. He was graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall where he played soccer, basketball and lacrosse, and from Hobart College majoring in American Studies.
James spent several years in the financial field, then moved to construction product sales. With his financial market and historical knowledge, he was asked to update his friend’s book, William Gill’s, “Trade Wars Against America.” When James learned of Bill’s passing in 2003, James assumed that project to write Plucking the Eagle.
A few years later, after a fun Christmas card note and picture to a friend’s son, the boy’s mother suggested to James that he should write a children’s Christmas book. Little Joe’s Christmas was the result in 2012. By popular demand and his own interest, James’ sequel, Little Joe Meets Santa Claus arrived in 2016.
With an interest from a studio documentary producer, the third of eight more books is under production for a 2023 release.
James loves to read history and biographies, Ron Chernow and David McCullough among his favorites. He enjoys sailing, golfing, woodworking, being outside landscaping, chopping wood, and being among friends conversing in all subjects, playing bridge, backgammon or cribbage. He resides in CT.
