Entrepreneurs Don’t Build Business! Ha!
Obama and Warren are so wrong!!
When Obama remarked, “If you got a business, you didn’t build that,” I couldn’t believe my eyes, I only asked myself did Obama really say that. Then I thought he was probably off the teleprompter!!
If anyone still has any doubts if Obama is pro business, that he wants to help the unemployed, then go to the doctor for a brain test. This is a man who has passed my anti business regulations than any President, has not met ONCE with his Jobs Council in six months all the while watching idly as more and more citizens enter the unemployment ranks and has witnessed a four-fold increase in the number of citizens on food stamps! Sure, Obama cares! Maybe about his golf, but he doesn’t care, he is too interested in socializing the US.
I am just tired with Obama and Elizabeth Warren’s statements that the wealthy need to pay something back in the form of “paying for the roads and bridges” that “allowed” for the success in the first place. They have it all wrong! How can the Democrats claim complete credit for the roads and bridges? Weren’t Republicans responsible as well? I guess in Democrats minds, they and only they, and not Republican, contributed to building of the infrastructure in the US. That’s right, President Eisenhower, a Republican, who initiated the Interstate highway system in the USA, did nothing! Don’t Republicans pay taxes that help fund road construction? In Democrats eyes, I guess not.
Not to get sidetracked, but Eisenhower, representing the Government pushed the Interstate Highway System for military troop transportation.
Back to the original purposes of showing how delusional Democrats are about which came first, the business induced improvements or their misled belief that it was government led initiatives that fostered business.
As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. As the early settlers traveled to outposts on the Boston Post Road, local farmers and merchants made the rudimentary roads and bridges, not the government. There wasn’t one before 1787, remember. So, since 1620 for 150 years, people built what they needed for commercial and personal purposes. Any invention to improve the means to travel was used.
Cornelius Vanderbilt took his grandmother’s gift of a row boat and ferried people across the Hudson River. The “Commodore” parlayed this success into sailing yachts and then steamships to shuttle products and people around Manhattan. With the advent of railroads, Vanderbilt sold his steamships and developed the train network throughout the country. Did the government build the tracks?
Henry Ford and his cars offered an alternative to train travel and freedom to travel. As more and more citizens bought cars, the muddy roads could not handle the traffic and it became known that brick roads were better suited which improved travel. Macadam eventually became the material of choice.
The Wright Brothers began flight. Howard Hughes and TWA and Juan Trippe of Pan Am improved on it. When people saw the advantages of air travel after watching Hughes fly across the country, he was landing in fields, not airports.
Even the internet, like the Interstate Highway, which Obama failed to mention, was the Defense Department project. Both of these, once seen the potential for public usage, did the government allow for mass use. It has worked well.
And where did the government get the funds? They used the money from the taxpayers and from the wealthy investing in Municipal Bonds. What hypocrites Democrats are.
As for Vanderbilt, Ford, and the Wright Brothers, they BUILT their business and it was only after popular demand did the government provides the means, knowledge and assistance to improve the bridges, roads and airports. The Democrats would have one believe they built the railroad tracks, roads, bridges and airports and only after their completion did these Titans invent their products and made their money.
As a natural progression, when more people traveled, popular demand urged the government to take on projects too big for any one individual to construct, but also to provide for the common good without a monopoly.
Obama and Warren need to realize it was the hard working entrepreneur whose inventions and eventual success fostered the latter. The roads, bridges and airports were the result of the inventions, not the cause.
You don’t build a road and tell Henry Ford to invent the car. You don’t build an airport and tell the Wright brothers to invent the plane! As seen with Solyndra, Obama and Warren need to stop using taxpayer’s money as a form of their Investment Bank. We know how those investments turned out!
